Veiled in Agony

In the dark realm known as the Abyss, time had no meaning, and suffering was the only constant. A place where life and death blurred, ruled by three once-human figures, now consumed by shadows and pain.

At the center of this desolate world stood Lady Thorn, tall and commanding. She was once Elira, a kind healer who sought to eliminate all suffering. Her quest led her to ancient texts and a forbidden plane where pain was power. Naïve in her pursuit, she crossed into this realm, where beings known as Cenobites offered her control over suffering at the cost of her humanity. Now transformed, with her body adorned in symbols of agony, Lady Thorn ruled the Abyss, searching for lost souls to lead down her twisted path of enlightenment.

Beside her loomed Pyrathus, the Executioner, a figure born from Marcus, a once-great warrior. Having failed to protect his village from invaders, Marcus succumbed to guilt and madness, fashioning a metal helm to hide his shame. But the helmet became a prison, amplifying his torment and transforming him into a brutal enforcer under Lady Thorn's command. His sword, once a symbol of justice, now delivered only punishment, reflecting his inner anguish.

The third figure, the Nurse, wandered the Abyss in silence. Once known as Evelyn, she had been a devoted nurse during a plague, tirelessly trying to save lives. When the disease claimed everyone around her, Evelyn was consumed by grief. She turned to dark experiments on the dead, believing she could resurrect them, only to become a monster. Now masked and forgotten, she performs twisted surgeries on the souls of the Abyss, removing their last shreds of hope.

Bound by loss and guilt, these three figures ruled the Abyss not with power but as prisoners of their own suffering. Each soul that entered their realm mirrored their own tragic pasts, a constant reminder of the humanity they had lost. And though there were moments of faint remembrance—of warmth, love, and hope—the Abyss was a place where such emotions could not survive.

Here, pain was not punishment but a cruel truth. And so they remained, forever trapped in the agony they had once sought to escape, veiled in the endless suffering they had created.
